Silk Stack Squeeze Smack

This exhibition was the first exploration into visually expressing the strength of deep authentic desire and pleasure. These are forces that empower rather than consume, embodying joy rather than guilt, and are, therefore, feared by patriarchal and supremacist societies. Ideologies, and systems set up to support these ideologies, are developed to suppress deep feelings and the energy and power that comes with their embodiment. What does it look like for a soul to break through and beyond a mandated “protective” barrier, creating its own new topography of freedom and strength? What does it feel like to be immersed in joy and pleasure in a way that is empowering rather than consuming?
